When Rangers dominated the first half of Sunday’s match against St Johnstone, Billy Dodds couldn’t believe what he was witnessing.
The momentum gained following the 3-0 victory over Celtic at Ibrox was reversed by the draws against Hibernian and Dundee, leaving Philippe Clement under tremendous strain.
However, the Light Blues scored three goals in nine minutes in the first half, leaving Dodds stunned live on BBC Sport Scotland (12 January, 3:22pm), even though Clement ran the risk of benching Nedim Bajrami for the match.
“He’s slipped through and he’s right through one-on-one – it’s that easy and then he just rolls it past [Andy] Fisher,” Dodds remarked after Vaclav Cerny’s goal gave the Gers a two-goal lead.
“Yes, it’s gutsy football, but trust me when I say that St. Johnstone and Rangers capitalise when you lose the ball there.
