BREAKING NEWS: Liverpool new boy Ryan Gravenberch showed true transfer feelings in Luis Diaz exchange

Liverpool new boy Ryan Gravenberch showed his true transfer feelings on Thursday night as he was seen jumping for joy with his new team-mate Luis Diaz after teeing up the Colombian for the Reds’ second goal against LASK. Jurgen Klopp’s team opened their Europa League campaign with a 3-1 victory over the Austrian side, despite falling behind in the first half.

Liverpool shelled out £34million on transfer deadline day to prise Gravenberch away from Bayern Munich just one year after the 21-year-old had moved to Germany from Ajax. The midfielder had endured a torrid time at the Allianz Arena and was handed just six starts for Bayern. He started just two Champions Leage matches and didn’t even make it onto the pitch for either leg of the team’s Champions League quarter-final defeat to Manchester City.

Gravenberch was clearly an irritated man in Germany, having been denied the opportunity to truly show what he could do on the pitch. And he appeared to leave those frustrations in the past as he celebrated Diaz’s latest goal.

Gravenberch enjoyed a solid game against LASK after being handed his full debut by Klopp and raced onto a ball played down the wing by Harvey Elliott. The Netherlands international then kept his composure to fire a sumptuous cross into the area, with Diaz getting on the end of it to turn the ball home.

After the ball hit the back of the net, Gravenberch scurried over to Diaz with a beaming smile on his face. He pumped both his fists and jumped up and down in delight, with Elliott and Joe Gomez also bundling over to join in the celebrations.

Gravenberch was rusty at times during the encounter but also took the opportunity to showcase his talents to Klopp. And after the match, the ex-Eredivisie star said: “We didn’t start so well, but we had the mentality and we turned it around again, so I was very happy with the game. For myself, it was good but also sloppy sometimes, so I have to work on that and the rest was okay.
