“A big team like Liverpool”: Amid £150M transfer links, superstar comments on LFC
Amid transfer links to Liverpool, Victor Osimhen has commented on what it was like to beat the Reds last season in spectacular fashion.
Jurgen Klopp’s side played poorly at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona as Napoli won 4-1 through goals from Piotr Zielinski, Zambo Anguissa and Giovanni Simeone.
It was a first half blitz from the Italian side with one of Zielinski’s goals coming after half-time while Liverpool managed a solitary goal courtesy of Luis Diaz.
Speaking about the game on The Obi One podcast, hosted by former Chelsea midfielder John-Obi Mikel, Osimhen shared what that period of the season was like for him and Napoli.
“We went 10 straight games without losing or having a draw”, Osimhen said:
“We were winning every game and then we had the game in the Champions League against a big team like Liverpool.
Everyone was up and spirited to do so well in that game. Then, of course, we smashed them in Naples.
“Of course, they were a very big team but I think the motivation we took into that game was really high. We had an amazing run of wins and got a lot of big wins away from home. AC Milan and Atalanta, I loved them.”
What’s the latest on a transfer for Victor Osimhen to Liverpool?
Liverpool were linked with a whopping £150 million move to sign Osimhen in October.
During a live broadcast, Italian journalist and director of Kiss Kiss, Valter De Maggio, reported on a desire to bring the Nigerian to Anfield.
“There is strong, strong interest in Liverpool’s Victor Osimhen,” he claimed.
“It remains to be seen whether Liverpool will put pressure on Osimhen’s agent not to renew his contract with Napoli.”
This is an unlikely move for Liverpool to complete even if it would be awesome to see happen.

“Will be sold:” Liverpool can complete new signing for cheaper than initially reported
The former Schalke centre-back is out of contract in the summer and will be replaced.
Beraldo is one of the players under consideration and new reports suggest that talks are underway.
Liverpool might even be able to sign him for cheaper than initially thought.
Recent claims from Spain suggested that Liverpool could sign the 19-year-old for £20 million with representatives from the club said to have travelled to Brazil for talks.
This was dismissed by Fabrizio Romano but another journalist, Jorge Nicola, who is considered to be one of the most trusted Brazilian football journalists, says there is more to the story.
While transfer talks have not been held yet, will be cheaper than initially thought to sign Beraldo with claims he will cost £20 million are not true, Nicola says.
Explaining via his YouTube channel, he said: “I spoke with Julio Caseres, the president of Sao Paulo, and with someone from Beraldo’s staff (one of his representatives).
“Julio said that, so far, absolutely nothing has arrived. Neither an enquiry or an offer (from Liverpool).
“The person from Beraldo’s staff also doesn’t believe in (reports of) such large figures.
“I think Beraldo will be sold in the next transfer window, at the end of our season here (in Brazil). Sao Paulo needs the money but this value seems very high to me.”
