BREAKING NEWS: Liverpool are considered the top priority to sign Bayer Leverkusen all time star player as sallah’s replacement at the end of the season.

The Reds are preparing for Mohamed Salah’s possible departure and have identified Wirtz as a viable replacement. Within the club, there is a belief that Wirtz could fill Salah’s shoes if he leaves Anfield, especially given the interest from Saudi Arabian clubs.

Jurgen Klopp has a lot of respect for the 20-year-old Wirtz, who has had a fantastic start to the season, with six goals and nine assists in 15 games.

According to FootballTransfers, Wirtz’s valuation is €37.3m (£32.4m), but it’s worth noting that his value had risen to €79m (£68.5m) prior to his injury in late 2022. Any unexpected Bundesliga triumph would almost certainly raise his asking price once more.

Klopp’s shared nationality as a fellow German with Wirtz could be persuasive, and there is a distinct Bundesliga influence within the Reds’ squad, with Joel Matip, Dominik Szoboszlai, and Ibrahima Konate all having made the transition from the Bundesliga to Liverpool.

Klopp planning a raid on the Bundesliga’s hidden gem?
Wirtz has been in excellent form for Bayer Leverkusen this season, amassing an impressive six goals and nine assists in various competitions while Xabi Alonso’s team remains undefeated.

Alonso earlier this year drew parallels between the 12-cap German international and Lionel Messi, shedding light on why so many top European clubs are vying for his signature.

Wirtz is under contract until the summer of 2027, so a sizable offer in the region of £80 million is likely to be required to entice him away from the BayArena.

However, Leverkusen are inclined to resist a January sale if they remain contenders for their maiden Bundesliga title.

While Leverkusen might reject bids for Wirtz in January, the prospect of him joining Klopp’s Liverpool awaits at the end of the season.
