‘Unbelievable’ talent could ‘easily fit’ at Liverpool as a substitute for Salah, according to Jurgen Klopp
When offers from Saudi Pro League teams start to flow in soon, Liverpool might be tempted to cash in on Mohamed Salah.
Mohamed Salah can be replaced by West Ham’s Jarrod Bowen, according to Liverpool great Steve McManaman, if he decides to leave his current team.
The winger has already been linked with a move to Anfield, and in the upcoming year, he might be a bigger target.
When Saudi Pro League teams showed up with tempting bids toward the end of the summer transfer window, Salah was extensively linked with a move away from Merseyside.
The Reds, however, decided that he was not for sale, and the player also chose not to participate in rumors.
A sum of £200 million is allegedly expected to test the willpower of Liverpool considering that it would make Salah the most expensive move of all time.
New bids are likely in January and at the end of the season. Given that those financial levels won’t be insurmountable in the Middle East, Liverpool may already be considering their possibilities.
The Reds have previously expressed interest in Bowen, and McManaman has given the England international his blessing. When asked by Betfred if the 26-year-old could take Salah’s place, he responded, “I don’t see why not.
On Sunday, he appeared to be quite threatening against Liverpool, and he has recently proven to be a talented player.
He gave Liverpool a lot of trouble, but it’s unclear if they’d want to buy a larger name if they lost Salah and when you take into account the money they’d get for Mo.
Although he works hard, can play in the middle or on the right, and is highly dangerous, I do think Jarrod Bowen could easily fit in at Liverpool.
“It goes without saying that it will be very difficult for Liverpool to replace Mohamed Salah considering all he’s done for the club,
but Jarrod Bowen could easily fit into their side and we will see if Jürgen can work his magic and develop Jarrod even more.”
Jurgen Klopp has already expressed his admiration for Bowen, which may be interpreted as a hint that Liverpool is interested in the versatile forward for the long term.
He said: “Bowen, what a player he became!” when speaking last year. Unbelievable.
He was excellent at the time when we saw him at Hull. I doubt many people anticipated this leap, but what a player.
West Ham are not in urgent need of transfer funds as a result of Declan Rice’s sale to Arsenal, therefore it will be interesting to see what kind of price they quote Liverpool for their No. 20 if an inquiry is made.
