The Boston Celtics have been busy this offseason.
Their offseason started with a trade that added Kristaps Porzingis to a squad that came within a game of a second
consecutive NBA Finals appearance last season.
The move ensured that the Celtics would remain among the favorites to win it all next season in spite of their surprising
playoff exit against the Heat.
Then they made a move that their fans were quite a bit less excited bout.
That move was the trade that sent Grant Williams to the Dallas Mavericks in exchange for some picks.
In the aftermath of the deal, it looks like Williams is already hearing some trash talk from one of his former teammates.
Williams told the Boston Globe’s Adam Himmelsbach that last week he went to dinner with Jayson Tatum and Tatum said,
“I’m gonna bust your a** when we play Dallas”.
Williams fired back with some trash talk of his own. He responded, “You think? You can’t go left. And I’m gonna be physical
with you and you’ll go cry to the referees.”

Williams will get a couple of chances to prove that he won this breakup in matchups between the Mavs and Celtics and he’ll
probably be the first player to volunteer to defend Jayson Tatum when those matchups come around.
The Boston Celtics will probably end up missing Grant Williams next season as he played an important role on their team
that made it to the NBA Finals.
For now, it looks like he’ll be exchanging trash talk with the other guys from that team as his old team tries to replace him in
their rotation.
