Dominik Szoboszlai has issued a reminder after his strong start to life at Liverpool was capped with a personal accolade.
Dominik Szoboszlai has predicted there is more to come at Liverpool after winning the Men’s Player of the Month.
The 22-year-old has been everpresent in the Premier League for the Reds during their impressive start to the campaign.
Following their 3-1 win over Wolverhampton Wanderers on Saturday, Liverpool momentarily topped the Premier League table thanks to their fourth straight triumph.
Szoboszlai topped his opening month at Anfield with his first goal for the club. His left-footed half-volley arrowed past Emi Martinez to fire the Reds on course to a 3-0 win over Aston Villa.
The Hungarian arrived as part of Liverpool’s midfield rebuild during the summer, as he became the second arrival following Alexis Mac Allister’s move from Brighton & Hove Albion.
Both Szoboszlai and Mac Allister have made strong starts to their careers on Merseyside and have seemingly made a starting berth in the middle of the pitch their own.
Szoboszlai insists that he has yet to reach his potential under Jurgen Klopp and that he will continue to strive to improve aspects of his game, as well as, performances.
“I think there’s always more to come,” he said.
“I can also improve a lot and also try to look to the players who are here almost seven years or even more, or a little bit less here.
Trying to take some advice from them and just continue like this.”
The 22-year-old swatted away the likes of Darwin Nunez, Andy Robertson and Mohamed Salah to the award.
Szoboszlai took just one month of competitive action to be rewarded for his efforts and in doing so, scooping the first accolade of the season.
He adds that the success comes as a surprise but reiterates that his positive start wouldn’t be possible without Klopp and his Liverpool teammates.
“It’s a really good feeling. Thanks to all of those who voted for me,” Szoboszlai continued to Liverpoolfc.com.
“I’m just doing my thing, helping the team and happy that I can do my best.
“It (the start) was also for me a surprise but thanks to the guys and thanks to the manager.
It’s easier that way if I have somebody who is helping me.
“It was the first thing in my mind – how it’s going to be to play in Anfield in front of them (the supporters) or even the away games.
They are always there. I’m really happy to make them enjoy.”
