According to Loc Tanzi of L’Equipe, Burnley, a newcomer to the Premier League, has made Wolfsburg an initial bid of €12
million for Belgian international Aster Vranckx.
Vranckx (20) played just 318 minutes of football over the course of 10 games while on loan at Milan during the previous
season. Wolfsburg is said to be keen to selling the Belgian midfielder, who joined the Bundesliga from KV Mechelen for €8
million in 2021, despite having a contract with them until 2025.
Vranckx has played in 29 games across all competitions since his switch, so it doesn’t seem like Niko Kovac has any plans to
use him.
The Premier League’s Crystal Palace is not one of the clubs interested in signing Vranckx, who made his Belgium debut last
week, according to Sacha Tavolieri.
If Vranckx moved to Burnley, he would work with fellow countryman Vincent Kompany, who helped the team earn
promotion back to the Premier League last season with 101 points. The Bundesliga is another division that The Clarets are
aiming for after re-signing Jordan Beyer from Borussia Mönchengladbach after an effective loan stint.
Report: Burnley are ready to bid for £20m attacker, but Everton really want him too.
Burnley are preparing a player-plus-cash deal for Viktor Gyokeres.
That’s according to TEAMtalk, who have reported that the Clarets have joined Everton in the race to sign the Coventry City
striker.
Gyokeres bagged 21 goals and 12 assists in the Championship last season and has attracted interest from across Europe as he
enters the final year of his contract.
The Swede has made his intentions to leave Coventry this summer clear, putting a number of clubs on high alert.
It has already been reported that Everton may look to include Ellis Simms in a potential deal for Gyokeres, however Burnley
now appear to have the same idea.
The newly promoted team are looking to bring in a proven striker and are considering offering two players plus cash to lure
him to Turf Moor.
The Sky Blues have demanded £20 million to part ways with Gyokeres, which is likely to put off a number of suitors.
Sporting Lisbon are reportedly feeling optimistic about completing a move for the 25-year-old very soon, though they are yet
to have a bid accepted.
Everton should be a more desirable move for Viktor Gyokeres than Burnley
Burnley absolutely smashed the Championship last season as they finished ten points clear at the top of the table.
The Clarets will look a completely different side to the one that was relegated last year and many have predicted them to avoid the drop.
However, a move to Goodison Park is surely still a ‘bigger’ move than 50 miles up the road.
Gyokeres will know that he could guide the Toffees to a mid table position and his presence would prevent a major
relegation scrap once again.
Meanwhile, the forward would be guaranteed to start practically every game under Sean Dyche.
Burnley have a number of attacking options such as Jay Rodriguez and Lyle Foster, while they could still bring Nathan
Tella back to the club.
