Breaking News, Burnley Stands As Favourite To, Sheffield United, Leicester City and Fulham among clubs linked with Middlesbrough’s “Goal Machine”

Leeds United and Sheffield United are among the clubs to have been linked with Middlesbrough
defender Paddy McNair.

Although the 28-year-old has played close to 200 times for Middlesbrough, TEAMtalk reports that the

team is “ready” to consider bids for him. According to the article, he has drawn interest from a number

of Premier League clubs, including newcomers Luton Town and Leeds, Sheffield United, Burnley,

Fulham, Leicester City, and AFC Bournemouth.

McNair, a versatile player used by Middlesbrough in both midfield and defense, has just one year left on

his contract at the Riverside. He joined the team in 2018, having made his football debut at Manchester

United before moving on to Sunderland.

He is a senior Northern Ireland international and also has Premier League appearances on his CV from

his spells with Manchester United and Sunderland. For the last six years, however, he has operated at

Championship level.

The combative Coventry City man has reportedly been targeted by the Whites, although TEAMtalk have

claimed Nottingham Forest, Burnley and Fulham have held talks over a deal for him.

The report claims a deal for Hamer could be worth around £16m to Coventry, who signed him from PEC

Zwolle in 2020. He has since made a total of 130 appearances for the Sky Blues and featured in last

season’s Championship play-off final.

He has one year remaining on his contract, therefore Coventry may be tempted to collect a fee for him

this summer rather than risk losing him on a free transfer following the expiry of his deal.
