Andy Robertson injury update as Liverpool have fresh cramp concern for Everton
Liverpool news ahead of the Merseyside derby against Everton.
Liverpool defender Andy Robertson ‘could be ruled out until 2024’ after being pictured in a sling.
The Reds left-back sustained a shoulder injury in Scotland’s 2-0 loss to Spain last weekend.
He returned to Anfield for his issue to be assessed with reports suggesting he could need an operation.
Should the 29-year-old be absent for Saturday’s Merseyside derby against Everton then Kostas Tsimikas will deputise.
Meanwhile, The Times reports that youngster Luke Chambers – who may have featured on the bench as back-up, has turned his ankle.
Chambers, who made his Reds debut in the Carabao Cup victory over Leicester and was in the squad for the 1-1 draw at Brighton, did not feature for England under-20s during the international break.
What’s more, Darwin Nunez admitted he suffered cramp at the end of Uruguay’s 2026 World Cup qualifying 2-0 win against Brazil.
Nunez inspired his country to a first win over Brazil in 22 years by recording a goal and an assist.
Via El Observador, Nunez said: “We started talking about this match after Colombia.
It was a difficult, direct rival. It was worth everyone’s effort. We played a great game when it came to attacking and defending.
Today we won. It had been 22 years since we beat Brazil, they are a very strong team, that’s clear. We made history and now let’s celebrate and return to our clubs.

I come to leave everything on the field, it was noticeable today. I ended up a little cramped in the end. I’m happy with the victory.
Alisson Becker must be at the point of wondering who he’s managed to annoy. Having been snubbed for the Yashin Trophy shortlist, the Liverpool goalkeeper now finds himself out of favor with his national team.
The 31-year-old once again had to settle for a place on the bench as Brazil took on Venezuela and Uruguay during the international break.
Instead, it was Ederson who again got the nod, with interim head coach Fernando Diniz clearly favoring the Manchester City keeper over Alisson.
The 2-0 defeat to Uruguay was the seventh game in a row for which the Liverpool goalkeeper has not been selected.
In fact, Alisson’s last appearance for his national side came in the shock World Cup quarter-final defeat to Croatia on penalties.
Alisson can hardly be blamed for Brazil’s exit, and it’s not like his form at Liverpool has dipped.
Quite the contrary in fact, with the keeper one of a very select few Reds who could be happy with their contribution last season.
It seems then that, much like the Yashin Trophy snub, Diniz’s decision might well come down to success at club level. Having won the treble last season, Ederson is certainly ahead of Alisson on that front.
But as any Liverpool fan would tell you, their man is the better goalkeeper. Had it not been for Alisson, the Reds could have been in a much worse position than the fifth-placed finish they managed to salvage last season, a fact that isn’t lost upon Jürgen Klopp.
Having brought up his 100th clean sheet for the club towards the end of the 2022/23 campaign, Klopp revealed the gift he gave to Alisson (via BBC Sport): “I gave him a shirt, we had a shirt prepared for him.
