BREAKING NEWS: Amid rumors of his departure, Spurs coach Postecoglou has changed his mind regarding the 25-year-old Spurs star exit as a result of…

Tottenham Hotspur defender Emerson Royal has been linked with a move away from the club in recent weeks.

The 25-year-old defender has fallen down the pecking order and he is no longer a regular starter for the north London club. Naturally, he has been linked with a number of clubs recently.

However, manager Ange Postecoglou has decided to hold on to him beyond the January transfer window. Tottenham are not keen on weakening their squad this month and any move for Emerson Royal will have to wait until the summer transfer window.

A report from Football Insider states that Spurs were open to selling him, but the Australian manager has now changed his mind.

The Brazilian is versatile enough to operate as a full-back as well as a central defender. He could prove to be a useful option for Tottenham during rotation and injuries.

He is currently behind Pedro Porro in the pecking order and he is unlikely to start for Tottenham in the coming weeks. It remains to be seen whether he is prepared to work hard in training and force his way into the manager’s first-team plans in the coming weeks.

Emerson has had a mixed spell at Tottenham since joining the club and he will need to add more consistency to his performances in order to play regularly at this level.

On the other hand, Porro has been in outstanding form for the Londoners and he has firmly established himself as one of the best full-backs in the country.

Tottenham could now look to make a move for 24-year-old this summer

Tottenham Hotspur could look to make a fresh move for Jean-Clair Todibo in the summer transfer window rather than target an offer in the final week of January.

For some time ahead of the window, it appeared that Jean-Clair Todibo could be the man to come in to strengthen Ange Postecoglou’s options at the heart of the defence. Of course, Spurs have had to deal without Micky van de Ven and Cristian Romero due to injury at various stages this season.

At one stage, Tottenham believed that Todibo was interested in joining. However, ultimately, Radu Dragusin proved to be the centre-back Spurs signed.

Tottenham could reignite Jean-Clair Todibo interest this summer

It was a coup to get the Romanian with Bayern Munich also eyeing Dragusin. But it appears that Tottenham’s interest in Todibo has not gone entirely.

Reports this week claimed that Spurs remain keen on Todibo. However, it appears that any bid is now likely to come in the summer.

According to a report from 90min, Tottenham have no plans to make a fresh offer for Todibo before next week’s deadline. Instead, they could look to make a move at the end of the season if they want to sign another defender.

Spurs could have an amazing group of defenders at their disposal

It would be quite something if Tottenham put together a group of centre-backs consisting of van de Ven, Romero, Todibo and Dragusin.

Van de Ven has been one of the best defenders in the Premier League this season. Meanwhile, Romero’s potential is obvious. Of course, he is a World Cup winner.

And if Postecoglou can add Todibo to his options, they would have a phenomenal array of talent at their disposal. But clearly, Nice are not going to let him go on the cheap.

Todibo will perhaps be a name to keep an eye on if it becomes apparent that Tottenham are eyeing another centre-back towards the end of the campaign.

Tottenham Hotspur are now in danger of losing Joshua Zirkzee to Manchester United

According to The Sun (h/t ESPN), Manchester United is currently leading the race to sign Serie A striker Joshua Zirkzee, posing a serious threat to Tottenham Hotspur. After Harry Kane’s departure last season, Tottenham could di with a prolific and reliable striker, and Zirkzee is considered a potential addition.

At the age of 22, Zirkzee rose through the Bayern Munich youth system. However, the road to success at the senior level proved challenging, leading him to Bologna in 2022. Following a lacklustre start in Italy, the forward has truly made his mark this season with an impressive tally of eight goals and four assists in 19 Serie A appearances.

Erik ten Hag seems to be desperate to bolster his attacking force and has made former Netherlands U21 starlet Joshua Zirkzee one of his transfer targets. Zirkzee’s contract with Bologna reportedly contains a £34m release clause. Despite starting his senior career with Bayern Munich and gaining recognition in Europe, Zirkzee has been identified as a potential target for Tottenham Hotspur.

The hierarchy at Tottenham fully supports manager Ange Postecoglou in terms of acquisitions, strongly believing that he is the right fit for the club. Despite parting ways with club captain and all-time leading goal-scorer Harry Kane, the Spurs have performed well. There is a high probability that they will enter the market to look for a replacement, perhaps during the upcoming summer transfer window.

Zirkzee helped Bayern Munich secure a remarkable continental treble, winning the Bundesliga, Champions League, and DFL Super Cup. His impressive goal-scoring ability could prove valuable at Old Trafford, as Ten Hag aims to maximize the potential of players like Marcus Rashford and Rasmus Hojlund.

It’s rather surprising that Bolgona would agree to both a modest release clause and a sell-on clause with Bayern simultaneously. Perhaps it could just be a buy-back clause for the Bundesliga giants. It is expected that more information will emerge in the coming months, as multiple teams appear to be interested in signing Zirkzee next summer.
