The MLS website unintentionally published an article during Celtic’s victory over Dundee United at Celtic Park in the middle of the week, claiming that Kyogo Furuhashi had signed as a designated player for Atlanta, which was managed by former Hoops manager Ronny Deila.
The story was quickly removed, and both Celtic and the Japanese striker later received an apology.
To make the story even more confusing, Atlanta signed a Japanese striker, Cayman Togashi, the same day, who had previously played for Sagan Tosu and Yokohama F. Marinos.
