Roberto Firmino will be making a return to Liverpool in January, seven months after leaving the club at the end of his contract.
Even with half a season under the belt since Firmino made an emotional exit from Anfield, he still remains the player to have featured most during Jurgen Klopp’s tenure – some 26 appearances ahead of Mohamed Salah.
The Brazilian was reinvented under Reds boss as an all-action centre forward and became an adored part of the front three alongside Salah and Sadio Mane, contributing towards 190 goals across an eight-year period and helping the club to a first Premier League title in 30 years.
It was decided for him that his time at Liverpool was up last summer, leaving without being offered a contract renewal and has since continued his career with Al-Ahli in the Saudi Pro League. However, it has now been announced that the 32-year-old will be making a return to the city where he has spent most of his career.
Back in October he announced the November release of a memoir titled “Si Senor: My Liverpool Years” – named after his famous chant – telling stories of his time as a Reds player. Now ahead of the New Year, details have been published confirming a book signing event titled “Meet Bobby Firmino”.
Taking place on January 5, 2024 at Waterstones on College Street in Liverpool city centre, Firmino will return to Liverpool and put pen to paper on copies of his book for those in attendance.
Priced at £22, tickets will entitle supporters to pick up a copy of the book on the day, meet Firmino in person and have it signed. It is stressed that entry can only be gained with a ticket, which are on sale on a first come first served basis.
Waterstones have confirmed the player will also be unable to sign any other form of Reds memorabilia or merchandise, and also will not be able to stop to pose for photographs. Instead staff will be on hand to take pictures of ticket holders with Firmino whilst he is signing books.

Steven Gerrard fury as Roberto Firmino targeted and Jordan Henderson misery continues
Steven Gerrard and Jordan Henderson’s Al-Ettifaq misery continued at the weekend in Saudi Arabia
Steven Gerrard launched a scathing attack on a match official as his Al-Ettifaq misery continued with a 2-0 defeat to Al-Taawoun on Saturday.
Gerrard’s side, which included Jordan Henderson, Georginio Wijnaldum and Moussa Dembele, managed just one shot on target as they were beaten 2-0 by Al-Taawoun. Aschraf El Mahdioui and Mateus Castro were on target for the visitors.
Ettifaq have not won a game since October 28, when they beat Al-Wehda 3-2, and currently sit eighth in the Saudi Pro League table. But speaking after the game, Kop icon Gerrard took aim at referee Shukri Hussein Al-Hunfsh for his performance.
He said: “Why are huge sums of money being paid to foreign referees in the Saudi League? We were penalised with an incorrect penalty; it was a natural contest.
“While the referee did not award us a penalty for a handball, so the series of not awarding penalty kicks for Ettifaq continues.”
Meanwhile, the former Liverpool and England captain is also claimed to be eyeing a move for Roberto Firmino. Al-Ettifaq are reportedly one of the Saudi sides interested in loaning the Brazil international next month, and when asked about the transfer, Gerrard admitted he is a big fan of the former Reds forward.
He said: “It’s clear we need to recruit extremely strongly in the next window. We have to bring better players into the building.=
“The club have to help me recruit a higher calibre of players moving forward. That has to happen immediately and it’s not in one or two areas, it’s more.
“I obviously know Bobby extremely well, I’ve been a massive fan. I’ve followed him for years. At the moment, he’s Al-Ahli’s player, so it’s very difficult for me to comment on that situation.
“But I’ve loved Bobby Firmino since the first day I watched him and I’m a huge fan. He belongs to another club, so I won’t sit here and name names… but I want to make it clear I’m as hungry and as desperate and as forward as wanting to do this [make signings] as quickly as we possibly can.”
Klopp provides Liverpool injury update on Gravenberch, Jota and Mac Allister as selection boost confirmed
Liverpool injury news on Ryan Gravenberch, Diogo Jota and Alexis Mac Allister ahead of the Premier League fixture against Arsenal.
Jurgen Klopp has provided a Liverpool injury update ahead of tomorrow’s Premier League top-of-the-table clash against Arsenal at Anfield (17.30 GMT).
The Reds have the chance to move to the summit of the table should they earn a victory over the Gunners.
Ryan Gravenberch missed the 5-1 Carabao Cup victory over West Ham United earlier this week because of muscle fatigue, having limped off in the 0-0 draw against Manchester United. He will be back available for the visit of Arsenal, though, to boost Klopp’s squad.
Diogo Jota has been absent for the past seven games because of a hamstring problem. The forward has been back in training, but won’t make the Arsenal clash.
Alexis Mac Allister continues to be ruled out with a nasty cut to his knee he suffered in a 2-0 win at Sheffield United at the beginning of the month. Klopp revealed that Jota and Mac Allister are ‘getting closer and closer’ to returning.
Andy Robertson (shoulder), Thiago Alcantara (hip) and Stefan Bajcetic (calf) remain sidelined. Joel Matip (ACL) may not play again this season while Ben Doak (knee) is also ruled out with a long-term injury.
