According to a report, Bayern Munich will have more financial flexibility for potential moves since their pursuit of Declan Rice was unsuccessful.

Kerry Hau of Sport1 reports that earlier reports about Bayern Munich’s claimed “growing pessimism” over their pursuit of West Ham defensive midfielder, may have been exaggerated.

Hau claims that discussions are in fact happening and “lively”:

According to information from SPORT1, Declan Rice and FC Bayern are still in active communication! There is still hope on Säbener Straße that the national talent could make his way to Munich despite the Munich team’s awareness of the financially formidable opposition from England, particularly from FC Arsenal.

Rice is currently reported to prefer staying in the Premier League versus moving abroad in England. However, the 24-year-old was impressed during earlier conversations not only by Thomas, but also by FC Bayern.

Plans that Tuchel has for him and the team. Rice has not yet canceled the Munich team, despite all the rumors.

Regardless of Rice’s choice, Bayern Munich anticipates “clarity in the next few days.” Furthermore, according to Hau, Bayern Munch will “spend nine figures” to get him and will “do anything” to do so:

It’s also unclear how far into the box the German record champion would have to go at Rice. With the help of their new transfer staff, managed by Kahn’s replacement and new CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen, Bayern is evaluating its financial possibilities. A record transfer within the club in the neighborhood of $100 million was recently disclosed by the new financial director Michael Diederich. Rice is solely responsible for whether Munich will pay such a sum for him.
