Burnley is getting ready to offer Viktor Gyokeres a player-plus-cash deal.
TEAMtalk claims that the Clarets have joined Everton in the competition to recruit the Coventry City striker.
Gyokeres scored 21 goals and provided 12 assists in the Championship last season, and as he enters the final year of his
contract, he has drawn interest from throughout Europe.
The Swede has made it obvious that he intends to leave Coventry this summer, which has many teams on high alert.
Everton has reportedly expressed interest in include Ellis Simms in a potential deal to acquire Gyokeres, but Burnley now
seems to have the same notion.
The freshly promoted team is considering making an offer of two players and money to entice a proven striker to Turf Moor.
Gyokeres’ release from the Sky Blues will cost £20 million, which is likely to turn away some potential bidders.
Sporting Lisbon, who have not yet had a proposal approved, are said to be enthusiastic about completing a deal for the 25-
year-old very soon.
Everton should be a more desirable move for Viktor Gyokeres than Burnley
Burnley absolutely smashed the Championship last season as they finished ten points clear at the top of the table.
The Clarets will look a completely different side to the one that was relegated last year and many have predicted them to
avoid the drop.
Moving to Goodison Park is undoubtedly still “bigger” than moving 50 miles away.
Gyokeres is aware that he might lead the Toffees to a mid-table place and that his presence would avert another significant
relegation battle.
Under Sean Dyche, the forward would essentially always be guaranteed to start.
Burnley has many attacking alternatives, including Jay Rodriguez and Lyle Foster, and they still have the option of bringing
Nathan Tella back to the team.

Will Viktor Gyokeres leave Coventry?
It seems inevitable that Gyokeres will move on, and, in truth, that was on the cards as soon as the final whistle blew at
Wembley.
The striker has the ability to play in the top-flight, and it’s no surprise to see so much interest in the player,
because he is someone who scores goals but has many other attributes as well.
From Burnley’s perspective, it makes sense that they are trying to use players as part of the deal, as it could give them the
edge over some rivals as they look to bring Gyokeres in. Plus, for Coventry, the Clarets have some individuals that could
make an impact in their side, as McNally proved, so this is one to monitor.
It remains to be seen whether Gyokeres would move to Burnley, as there are some more established clubs in the running for
his signature, whilst Sporting CP and West Ham would both offer European football. So, it will be interesting to see how this
plays out, but Coventry are right to stand firm this summer, and they will hope to reinvest the money that Gyokeres brings in
to improve the squad as a whole.
