Reason Why Liverpool would benefit more than Arsenal from a 10-point deduction against Manchester City if the Everton FFP ruling were to be repeated.

Financial Fair Play, the Premier League’s new Profit and Sustainability regulations, and Manchester City have all been discussed this past week in the wake of Everton’s point deduction.

Amidst the current international break, one story has taken center stage. The Financial Fair Play penalties that Everton received for breaking the rules could have a big impact on this season’s title race.

The Toffees were found to have broken the new Profit and Sustainability regulations for the first time, according to an independent commission’s examination.

They have so been immediately deducted 10 points. They now only behind Burnley in the standings and are in the Premier League’s relegation zone as a result.

Everton has stated its intention to file an appeal; however, should they fail to do so, this unprecedented penalty may serve as a benchmark against which future offences by teams will be judged.

Unsurprisingly, this has led Everton to concentrate on Manchester City. A statement from Sean Dyche’s team stated, “The club will also closely monitor the decisions rendered in any subsequent cases pertaining to the Profit and Sustainability Rules of the Premier League.”

They are definitely not the only ones. Following an examination into their financial issues, City was charged with 115 charges in February of this year.

They have again stated that they are willing to have an investigation conducted; if the current Premier League winners are found guilty of the alleged infractions, they may lose points or maybe be demoted.

“If City is found to be in opposition, too many things’might’ occur,” according to football financial specialist Stefan Borson. He predicted that “it will be very serious—all hell will break loose.” “It will grow into a huge story that affects much more than just football; it will have a much wider impact than that.” Several organizations will be involved. Everything will take place on a highly explosive aircraft.

“From a football perspective, it is inconceivable that City would avoid relegation in the event that all of these factors were found to be against them.” This investigation is most likely planned for 2024. If City is found guilty, the Premier League will definitely be worried about the possible fallout. “The league’s accusation against City for such

grave offenses demonstrates that this is an extremely audacious move.”

This season, Arsenal are vying for their first Premier League championship since 2004; such a punishment could provide them with an enormous boost.

In their current state, a nine-point deduction from City would not propel Arsenal to the summit of the league standings; however, they would trail Liverpool by a total of 28 points on goal difference.

Pep Guardiola’s squad, meanwhile, would fall to eighth place should they encounter the same fate as Everton. They would be positioned below Brighton, who have 19 points at the moment.

If any team could possibly recover from such a setback, it is City. Guardiola’s squad has historically established new benchmarks for consistency and has a propensity for powerful finishes to seasons.

Nonetheless, a 10-point deduction would have been sufficient to propel Arsenal past them and into the league championship game last season. It remains to be seen whether or not that is possible this time.

Club told to accept £50 million bid from Liverpool - clause must be included

Former Scotland international Frank McAvennie has urged Leeds to accept a £50 million bid from Liverpool for Archie Gray.

The Daily Mail reported on 10 November that Liverpool are prepping a £50m bid to sign the versatile midfielder.

He can play as a defensive midfielder as well as a box to box midfielder or at right back. This versatility obviously appeals to Jurgen Klopp as it would give him the opportunity to rotate with increased ease.

Speaking to Football Insider, McAvennie has urged Leeds to accept a 50 million bid from Liverpool but only if they keep him on loan initially.

“I think what they’ve (Leeds) got to do is sell him (Gray),” said McAvennie.

“Take the money, but keep him on loan. He’s not going to get into the Liverpool team, he’s not going to get into the Everton team at the moment.

“It’s the best thing for everyone. It’s a long way to the end of the season and his value may go up.

“I don’t think anyone is going to buy him in January. I wouldn’t imagine if he’s doing that well unless you spend decent money.

“If he’s not ready for the Premier League, whoever’s wanting him, come and get him now and loan him back.

“That’s what I would try and do because then you get some money for January. It’s a win-win for them. Farke will know what he needs.”

Liverpool already have a talented 19-year-old that can play as a defensive midfielder in Stefan Bajcetic but you can never have too many young stars coming through the ranks.
