FLASH NEWS: CEO PROMISES HE WON’T STOP BURNLEY SIGNING HIS 28 YEAR OLD MAN CITY SUPER STAR THIS SUMMER.

If Burnley gives goalkeeper Jean Butez the chance to make his name in the Premier League, Belgian champions Royal

Antwerp won’t stand in the way of Butez’s ascent.

Of course, deeds speak louder than words.

Time will tell whether Antwerp’s CEO keeps his word given reports from Belgian reporter Sacha Tavolieri that Burnley is

pushing up their pursuit of Jupiler League-winning shot-stopper Jean Butez.

According to Sven Jaecques, “Jean had his best season ever,” for Gazet van Antwerpen.

“At age 28, he has attained a suitable age for a transfer. And he has already made it known that he wants to go forward.

“If that chance arises, we won’t stop Jean. Providing the appropriate price is presented.

Burnley chooses Royal Antwerp’s Jean Butez as their goalkeeper.

The ‘correct price’ that Jaecques regards as appropriate is yet to be determined.

Tavolieri claims that Burnley will submit a first offer for the Frenchman this week, albeit he withholds the amount the

Clarets are prepared to pay.

At the very least, Butez ought to cost a little less than Bart Verbruggen of Anderlecht.

The Burnley manager gave Verbruggen his senior debut at Anderlecht, but Vincent Kompany’s top goalkeeping target is

instead expected to sign with Premier League rivals Brighton & Hove Albion for around £17 million.

Verbruggen was outstanding in the second half of last term, but not quite as impressive as Butez. No one managed more

than his 20 clean sheets; Butez laying the foundations for Royal Antwerp’s first Jupiler League triumph since 1957.
