Good news: liverpool are in talk with an incredible EPL defender, in to burst the defense

The Merseyside club now appears to be planning a move for a Premier League defender who will be a free agent next summer.

The Reds had several chances to take the lead at Kenilworth Road, but Tahith Chong put the Hatters ahead ten minutes before the end.

Jurgen Klopp’s side then pushed for a goal but were unable to find one until the fifth minute of added time, when substitute Diaz leveled with a header.

The Colombian was making his first appearance for the Reds since his father was kidnapped in his home country, and after the game he called on those responsible to release him.

The result keeps Liverpool in third place in the Premier League, three points behind leaders Manchester City.

According to Football Insider, the Reds have set their sights on Bournemouth star Lloyd Kelly.

Kelly, 25, is set to be out of contract at the end of the current season and Liverpool are said to have joined rivals Tottenham Hotspur in showing an interest in the Englishman.

The defender joined the Cherries from Championship side Bristol City back in 2019 and has since made a total of 124 appearances for the club across all competitions, including 38 in the Premier League.

Naturally a centre-back, Kelly is also capable of operating as a left-back and that is said to be something that appeals to Klopp as he searches for reinforcements to bolster his defensive options.

Italian giants AC Milan are also said to be interested in the defender, who would be free to walk away from the south coast side next summer.

To avoid that possibility, Bournemouth could accept a bid for the player during the January transfer window.
