Jarrod Bowen rejects Liverpool and Newcastle interest to sign long-term West Ham contract
Jarrod Bowen has rejected interest from Liverpool and Newcastle by agreeing a new SEVEN-year contract at West Ham, talkSPORT understands.
The formal announcement that Bowen has committed his future is expected to be made imminently in a massive boost for David Moyes’s side.
talkSPORT revealed last week Liverpool and Newcastle were circling after negotiations between Bowen and the Hammers had a dragged on for several months.
As reported in the transfer notebook, West Ham always remained hopeful Bowen would stay but did not want to go into the January transfer window with the contract unsigned.
The new deal is believed to make Bowen the highest-paid player at the London Stadium.
There is also no release clause in the new deal.
The 26-year-old signed for the Hammers in 2020 in a deal worth a potential £25million.
Now into his fifth campaign in east London, he’s scored 45 times in 165 games – with five in seven this season alone as his impressive form continues.
Arguably his most vital contribution, though, was his Europa Conference League winning goal against Fiorentina.
With the game locked at 1-1, he raced through on goal in injury time to slot home and hand West Ham their first trophy in 43 years.
He also has four England caps and returned to Gareth Southgate’s squad this week on the back of his recent Premier League scoring spree.
