AC Milan are hoping to close the operation for Marco Pellegrino with Club Atletico Platense this evening, according to a report.
According to the latest from Gianluca Di Marzio
, Pellegrino is the player that the management have chosen as the number one target for the defensive department and they could actually reach an agreement this evening.
Tonight there will be a meeting between the Rossoneri management, the player’s agent and the president of Platense. The total figure should be around €3m plus bonuses and a percentage of future resale.
Given that the initial reports suggested a transfer fee at least double the amount mentioned by Di Marzio, it could well be that Milan are getting a bargain deal for one of the highest rated young defenders in Argentina.
Pellegrino – who has an Italian passport and therefore would not take a non-EU spot – has made 17 appearances for Platense this season, scoring one goal.

According to the latest from Pietro Mazzara of MilanNews, Milan are in negotiations with Club Atletico Platense over the signing of centre-back Marco Pellegrino, who is the No.1 target for the role now.
The management have made it clear that they do not want to go above €5-6m for the 21-year-old, but they are willing to put a resale clause in there to sweeten the deal, with the hope of getting things done quickly.
Once a central defender has been secured, Mazzara writes that the Rossoneri will switch to signing a striker, with Lorenzo Colombo ready to head out on loan.
Not only that, but the leadership will also look into the signing of another central midfielder if there is the right opportunity, though no names are mentioned.
