LIVERPOOL NOW KEEN TO SIGN ‘RARE’ £32M ” MONSTER” DEFENSIVE MIDFIELDER, KLOPP ADMIRES

After Nottingham Forest failed to sign Ibrahim Sangare, Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool are now being linked with the PSV defensive midfielder.

According to ESPN Netherlands, Liverpool are interested in signing Ibrahim Sangare from PSV in the summer transfer window.

The report has claimed that Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain are also interested in securing the services of Sangare.

Nottingham Forest have had a bid for the 25-year-old defensive midfielder already turned down, according to the report.

ESPN Netherlands has added that there is a release clause of €37 million (£32 million) in Sangare’s contract at PSV.

Aad de Mos is a former Ajax and PSV manager, and ESPN Netherlands has quoted him as saying that Sangare is a “rare” player.

De Mos said: “He would be a great player for the Premier League.

“For a team that plays offensively, he is always the link you put down first to make the rest function. That’s rare.”

PSV midfielder Ibrahim Sangare would be a good signing for Liverpool

In our view, PSV defensive midfielder Ibrahim Sangare would be a good signing for Liverpool in the summer transfer window.

First of all, a transfer fee of €37 million (£32 million) is not a lot for a player who is 25 and has done well over the years.

Sangare starred for Toulouse in France and now he is a big player for PSV in the Eredivisie.

The 25-year-old has also played 31 times for the Ivory Coast national football team.

Secondly, Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain are also keen on Sangare.

It shows just how highly he is rated in the footballing community.

Bayern and PSG are two of the biggest clubs in the world, and they would not take an interest in an average player.

Although Sangare is a defensive midfielder, he can drive forward and score goals.

Sangare made 26 starts and three substitute appearances in the Eredivisie last season.

The PSV star scored five goals and gave one assist in those games.

Sangare also scored one goal and provided one assist in six UEFA Europa League matches for PSV last season.

Liverpool transfer round-up: Jurgen Klopp set to make move for Moises Caicedo alternative

Liverpool began their season with a draw at Chelsea as their need for more midfielders was underlined.

The Reds have seen a huge overhaul in the middle of the pitch with a host of stalwarts leaving Anfield. Only two new faces have arrived with five

heading out the exit door, leaving Jurgen Klopp to act in the final weeks of the season.

It is no secret that the club are looking for a defensive midfielder following their British record bid for Moises Caicedo, which could still not be

enough, and their long-running pursuit of Romeo Lavia.

Here’s the latest transfer news from Anfield.

Klopp coy on Caicedo deal

The German tactician remained tight-lipped about a deal for Caicedo after Liverpool ’s 1-1 draw at Chelsea on Sunday.

The Reds were ready to break the British transfer record on Friday morning to sign the Brighton midfielder, but the move now remains in the balance

after the Ecuador star showed a reluctance to join, with his preference still a switch to Chelsea

The Blues have chased Caicedo for much of the summer and eventually bid £100m, only to be outdone by Liverpool who were prepared to pay £110m

– which would top the record fee paid for Enzo Fernandez by the Blues in January.

Carra slams Anfield “mess”

Jamie Carragher has weighed in on the “mess” surrounding Liverpool’s pursuit of Caicedo as Chelsea edge towards winning the battle for him.

The Reds are going head-to-head with their Premier League rivals for the right to sign the Ecuadorian midfielder. Chelsea have been chasing him

since January and have lodged numerous bids for his services.

Carragher told Sky Sports: “Liverpool I think for a long time have had the best structure in terms of getting transfers done and getting it over the line.

Even in this window and going back to January: Cody Gakpo was just announced. There was no real sort of build-up.

“Szoboszlai, there was talk the day before that he was going to come in, and it was done the next day. And you know Liverpool it seems to me, they’ve

got a deal done with the club, they haven’t really got a deal done with the player and that’s just not right.”

Reds eye PSV star

Liverpool are interested in PSV Eindhoven midfielder Ibrahim Sangare, according to Kiki Musampa, his agent.

The 46-year-old has suggested that the Reds are among three leading European clubs chasing the French-Ivorian. The Eredivisie side have a €37.5m

(£32m) release clause in his contract. Nottingham Forest made enquiries but didn’t have the finances to push forward with the deal.

Musampa told ESPN : “There are big clubs that are interested, such as Bayern Munich. Ibrahim is also on the list at Paris Saint-Germain and

Liverpool, but he is not yet a priority there. Nottingham Forest had already made an offer, but that was not enough.”
