Liverpool are reportedly in advanced talks to sell Nat Phillips to Leeds United, with the 26-year-old set to be the latest name to leave Anfield.
According to journalist Rudy Galetti, the Reds are closing in on an agreement with the Championship side to sell the defender, with Liverpool set to receive as much
as £10m for Phillips.
Leeds have been linked with the Bolton-born centre-back for the majority of the summer, yet discussions are now moving in the right direction for Liverpool to sell
Phillips to the Elland Road side.
Praised by Scott Parker as an ‘exceptional’ player, Phillips could become a star in the Championship for Leeds, and leaving Liverpool this summer could be perfect
for the former AFC Bournemouth loanee.
Moreover, £10m will be a healthy sum to sell Phillips for this window, with funds from this sale potentially going towards Liverpool making one or even two more
signing before the closure of the transfer window.
Phillips’ quality is clear for all to see, with the defender good enough to start for a good Premier League side if given the chance. Which is why a move to Leeds could
be one of the deals of the summer this window.
The centre-back has already showed his quality in the Championship out on loan with Bournemouth, a move to Leeds could see Phillips take his quality to a whole
new level.
With an ambitious manager on the touchline amongst a young squad bursting with potential, Phillips would be a welcome addition to Leeds’ side, and a player who
could help the Whites return to the Premier League next year.

Parsons said: “We won’t be selling assets on the cheap. That’s why we stood firm on a few. We will develop a lot of players over the coming years and there will be
players who go on to join top-four clubs.
“But we won’t be doing it at a cheap rate, we will be doing it at the going rate. If clubs want to place offers, we will look at them. We won’t be saying just yes to any
offer through the door.”
Liverpool could end up paying Southampton’s demands for Lavia
Southampton have stuck to their guns all summer over Lavia’s asking price, and Liverpool could now have to meet the Saints demands with the Championship side’s
CEO now saying they won’t succumb to late transfer pressure.
£50m might seem steep for a player with just one season of Premier League experience, but given Lavia’s age and incredible potential, the cost could be worth in the
long run for Liverpool.
Moreover, with time running out between now and the end of the season, the Reds could themselves now feel pressured to sign Lavia in time for Chelsea, who could b
e a good squad member for the opening fixture.
