The Burnley boss has worked with the Man City youngster on a number of occasions
Burnley boss Vincent Kompany has already explained exactly what Leeds United would be getting if they were to make a move for Manchester City’s rising
star Taylor Harwood-Bellis. The England youth international helped the Clarets win promotion from the Championship last season and won the Under-21s
European Championship with England earlier this summer.
Despite his clear talent, the 21-year-old is yet to break into City’s first-team on a regular basis and could leave this summer. Leeds, West Ham and Fulham have been
credited with an interest in the young centre-half who is approaching the final year of his contract at the Etihad.
Pep Guardiola’s side have a reported asking price of £15million for his services, enough to put Burnley off a permanent move for the youngster. Kompany, a former
Man City centre-back himself, has worked with the defender on a number of occasions, at Anderlecht and as recent as last season at Turf Moor.
“I think Taylor has done exactly what I’ve expected him to do,” Kompany told Lancs Live when asked about his development last season.. “I’ve known Taylor since
he was a very young footballer before he was even a first-team player, and his one outstanding attribute is his attitude.
“He really has an outstanding attitude and he’s got good habits of high-level professionals. His level is for everyone to see. I had him when he was at Anderlecht, and
he’s a better player now.
“The player he is now today, give him another year or two, he’s going to be a much-improved player again because he has the right attitude. We’re excited to be a
part of his development.”

Verbal agreement in place for Leeds record-signing to leave this summer
With only a few days left until the start of the new Championship season, Leeds United could have another problem on their hands with the news that their record signing has a verbal agreement to leave the club.
The all whites have already seen the likes of Robin Koch, Maximilian Wober and Brendan Aaronson depart for the Bundesliga, and the German top-flight might well be about to welcome another Leeds star.
According to Kicker, Georginio Rutter, who cost Leeds a club record fee when signing on a five and a half year deal in January of this year, per the official Premier League website, had a verbal agreement in place with former sporting director, Victor Orta, that he could leave the club in the event of relegation.
Unlike the aforementioned other players, who all had contractual clauses allowing them to move on, it appears that Rutter’s was simply a gentleman’s agreement and one that isn’t likely to be enforceable.
The fact that it appears a deal to move away is being explored in any event would tell you that the Frenchman sees his immediate future elsewhere.
That could present huge problems to Daniel Farke who is likely to have been whittling down his squad to what he believes is his strongest starting XI, and Rutter is likely to have played a part in those thoughts and plans.
Clearly, there’s no point in keeping a player that doesn’t want to be at the club, though it’s difficult to see how Rutter can get a move away on the basis of ‘shaking hands’ with someone that’s no longer at the club.
