Just In: Leeds Keen On signing powerful PL star Xisco, 26, who spoke about his role in bolstering the team’s promotion to the Premier League with versatile Darlow.

Leeds make approach to sign 26-year-old PL ace alongside Darlow

Things are beginning to hot up in the transfer market generally, and for Leeds United as they get set to

begin their 2023/24 Championship campaign.

There’s only nine days until they open their account with a fixture against Cardiff City, and Elland Road is sure to be packed

to the rafters with the fans wanting to see the players back after the summer break, and to welcome the new man in charge,

Daniel Farke.

The German will be acutely aware of the pressure he’ll be under from the beginning of the campaign, and to that end he will

thrive or fail based on some of the transfer decisions he makes.

Newcastle reserve keeper, Karl Darlow, is set to be announced as a new Leeds player imminently, and the 32-year-old could

well be joined by Everton midfielder, Mason Holgate.

Along with Sheffield United and Southampton, Football Insider sources have noted that Leeds have made an approach for

the player.

It’s reported that he still has two years left of his contract with the Toffees, but it’s believed that Everton manager, Sean

Dyche, is open to the player leaving on a season-long loan.

With three clubs to choose from, Holgate will need to pick carefully, and although the all whites have dropped down a

division, they’re still a huge club.

When all’s said and done, it could be that which persuades the player to sign on the dotted line at Elland Road

Chelsea ‘want to re-sign’ Prem star while Leeds United man is available to Poch ‘at £20m discount’

England and Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi.

According to reports, Chelsea ‘want to re-sign’ England international Marc Guehi from their Premier League rivals Crystal

Palace.

The 23-year-old progressed through the ranks at Stamford Bridge but he did not make a single Premier League appearance

for them prior to his exit.

After a stellar loan spell at Swansea City, Crystal Palace paid around £18m to sign Guehi from Chelsea ahead of the

2021/22 campaign.

The centre-back has shone for the Eagles over the past two seasons and he has formed a strong partnership with Denmark

international Joachim Anderson.

Guehi’s form for Palace has earned him his senior debut for England and he is now a regular in Gareth Southgate’s squad

ahead of next summer’s European Championships.

Liverpool and Arsenal have been linked with Guehu this summer but Football Insider are reporting that

‘Chelsea’s interest in Crystal Palace defender Guehi is gathering pace following Wesley Fofana’s horror cruciate ligament

injury’.

Palace are ‘reluctant to part with the centre-back’ following Wilfried Zaha’s move to Galatasaray and they ‘would demand a

fee well in excess of £60million in order to sell him this summer’.

Chelsea are also looking to strengthen in centre-midfield, with Brighton’s Moises Caicedo and Southampton’s Romeo Lavia

among their targets.

They will not be stopping there as they are also in the market for a new goalkeeper.

Despite his poor form last term, they are being linked with Leeds United shot-stopper Illan Meslier.

And a separate report from Football Insider claims Leeds United are now ‘ready to sell’ him at a ‘£20m discount’ this

summer. The report adds.

‘A well-placed source has told Football Insider that the Whites will ask for bids of between £20-25million for the

23-year-old.

‘That is a significant drop from the £40million figure Leeds had previously hoped to rake in if Meslier were to

leave Elland Road in the event of relegation.

‘Football Insider revealed in April that Chelsea have a major interest in the Frenchman, while Tottenham and

Man United have also shown interest.

‘However, Spurs and United have recently remedied their goalkeeping issues with deals for Guglielmo Vicario

and Andre Onana respectively – while Mauricio Pochettino looks set to persevere with divisive shot-stopper Kepa

Arrizabalaga.

‘Leeds’ willingness to sell comes as they put the finishing touches on a deal for Newcastle goalkeeper Karl

Darlow.’
