Leicester City paid a substantial fee to steal staff member from Nottingham Forest

Nottingham Forest is going through a tough spell, having conceded six goals in their consecutive losses, though those defeats came against Arsenal and Newcastle United.

Nuno Espirito Santo’s team had some positive moments at the Emirates, but they struggled to score and were ultimately punished for sitting too deep at times.

Gary Birtles was surprised to see Chris Wood on the substitutes’ bench, although Nuno had mentioned jet lag before the match, which offered a slight hint.

On a more positive note, it has been revealed that Nottingham Forest received a significant fee for one of their staff members who left earlier in the season.

Leicester City paid Nottingham Forest a significant fee for Steve Rands, who departed the club around May to reunite with Steve Cooper and take on the challenges of a new role in the Premier League.

Rands joined Leicester City as a first-team coach and analyst, continuing his close working relationship with Cooper, having followed him from Swansea City to Forest and now to Leicester.

Interestingly, it appears as if Leicester acquiring Rands came at a price as details have emerged.

According to the Athletic, Leicester paid a substantial buyout clause to Nottingham Forest to acquire Steve Rands’ services earlier on this year.

Steve Cooper’s time at Nottingham Forest

Despite what some people say, Steve Cooper achieved an awful lot at Nottingham Forest.

After all, he did something that no other Forest manager could muster in 23 years, which was gaining promotion to the Premier League.

Things sadly went stale at the City Ground, and results weren’t going his way.

Nuno Espirito Santo has picked things up nicely and is building something special at Nottingham Forest, so it’s easy to look down on Cooper at Leicester.

However, Cooper can feel slightly hard done by given the fact he was tasked with avoiding relegation.
