Kompany, which is a crucial recommendation for Doukouré coming from a renowned center-back.

It has gotten to the point that the Belgian is considering coaching the man. Doukouré, a U20 France international, moved to

Strasbourg 18 months ago from Ligue 2 team Valenciennes. This past season, the prospect participated in 29 games across

all leagues with the Alsatians.

It remains to be seen whether Strasbourg, which is now owned by American consortium BlueCo, will sanction the sale of one

of their prized assets. Doukouré is still tied to Strasbourg over a long-term contract which is set to expire in 2026. Te idea

of playing against some of the Premier League’s very best may appeal to Doukouré. The right-footed centre-back is valued at

Coventry City bid to ‘push ahead’ against rivals in race to sign Burnley man

Coventry City transfer news from CoventryLive as the Sky Blues are linked with a move for former Burnley loan man on a permanent deal

Coventry City are stepping up their bid to sign Burnley’s Luke McNally amid interest from Championship rivals Millwall.

The 23-year-old defender enjoyed a hugely successful half season loan spell with the Sky Blues after joining the club in

January and immediately cementing his place in the team, playing 22 times and helping Mark Robins’ men get all the way to

the play-off final at Wembley where they lost out to Luton Town in a penalty shootout.

City need at least three new centre-halves with Kyle McFadzean currently the only central defender on the club’s books

following the return of McNally and fellow loan players Callum Doyle and Jonathan Panzo to their parent clubs, and the

departure of Michael Rose at the end of his contract.

Robins is an admirer of McNally, who signed for the Clarets from Oxford United for a reported £1.8million last summer, but

was limited to just two substitute appearances in the league before switching from Turf Moor to the CBS Arena.

Now, respected transfer expert and Sun football writer Alan Nixon reveals via his Patreon page: “Coventry City are back in

the hunt for Burnley center-half Luke McNally and want to overtake Millwall in the race. If the auction results in McNally

being sold, Millwall would struggle to find the money to buy him outright.

Today (Friday, July 7), Coventry is anticipated to finalize the transfer of Viktor Gyokeres to Sporting Lisbon for £20.5

million. This will significantly bolster Robins’ transfer budget, which has already been increased by the sale of 17,500 season

tickets.
