4 LIVERPOOL PLAYERS HAVE RETURN FROM INJURY JURGEN KLOPP REVEALED CHECK WHO ARE THE PLAYERS

Liverpool are first up in the Premier League when domestic football returns this weekend after the international break, and are sweating over a few players.

Captain Virgil van Dijk will have to sit out the away match against Wolves after being handed an additional one-game for abusive language and behaviour after being sent off against Newcastle.

The issues in defence do not stop there for Jurgen Klopp, with both Trent Alexander-Arnold and Ibrahima Konate struggling with fitness issues. In midfield, Thiago Alcantara is a doubt

There is still a round of fixtures for many players before Saturday’s trip to Molineux, so all in Melwood will be hoping for good news.

Here is your latest update of Liverpool injuries and return dates…

Trent Alexander-Arnold

The right-back was forced off against Aston Villa and subsequently withdrew from England duty.

Asked after the game for an update, Jurgen Klopp said: “I don’t know exactly. I asked him, he said it’s [his] hamstring.

“‘Not too serious’ is his opinion, but we obviously have to wait for the scans and then we will know more.”

He is considered a doubt for the trip to Wolves.

Ibrahima Konate

Centre-back Konate pulled out of the France squad after missing Liverpool’s last two games with a hamstring injury.

Les Bleus boss Didier Deschamps confirmed the player was to be assessed upon linking up with the squad, while inisting: “Of course, I won’t take risks.” Jean-Clair Todibo was subsequently called up as a replacement for Konate.

Konate is also a doubt to face Wolves.

Thiago Alcantara

The midfielder has suffered a setback on his comeback trail, after initially hoping to return before the international break.

“Thiago had a little setback,” Klopp told reporters earlier this month. “He started training with the team and had a little setback so we have to slow down there a little bit.

“It’s not cool for him, it’s not cool for us but it’s how it is. Thiago will use the (September) international break for that, to be up to speed I’m pretty sure. It should hopefully be enough. All the rest are available.”

Thiago is now not expected back until later in September.
