Sources: Max Aarons undergoing medical today after Leeds United hijack
Max Aarons is undergoing a Bournemouth medical on Thursday (10 August) after they hijacked Leeds United’s deal for him, sources have told Football Insider.
Leeds had agreed a deal with Norwich City for the England Under-21 international for a package worth over £10million in total.
But Bournemouth made a late move to ambush United and Aarons has now opted to join the Premier League club instead.
The 23-year-old will now undergo a medical with Bournemouth before completing the paperwork on the deal.
Aarons, who played for new Leeds manager Daniel Farke at Norwich, has only a year remaining on his contract at Carrow Road.
He is proven in both the Premier League and Championship, and that has helped make him a top target for clubs in England and on the Continent this summer.
A deal for Aarons would not be the Cherries only hijacked deal of the window.

Leeds should now line-up second Spurs switch after failed £12m transfer pursuit – opinion
This time yesterday, Max Aarons’ £12 million move to Leeds United had appeared all but done.
A deal had been struck with Norwich City and Aarons was in Leeds ready to complete the formalities of what would’ve been a huge signing for Daniel Farke.
Leeds had hoped to have Aarons signed in time for the trip to Birmingham City on Saturday, but at the 11th hour, Premier League side Bournemouth hijacked the
move.
Aarons is now set to sign for the Cherries leaving Leeds back at square one in their pursuit of a new full-back, one of many areas the Whites need to strengthen.
If Farke is indeed keen on bringing in another right-back, Leeds should get back on the phone with Tottenham Hotspur and line up a second defensive deal.
Leeds should look at Spence after failed Aarons deal
Centre-back Joe Rodon is expected to make the season-long-loan switch from Spurs to Leeds before Saturday’s game at Birmingham.
This represents an excellent piece of business for Leeds, but it would be made even better if they were able to follow his arrival with Djed Spence.
Spurs are set to allow Spence to leave this summer with Pedro Porro and Emerson Royal currently ahead of him in the pecking order at right-back.
Leeds are clearly seeking a right-back with pace who can offer width in attack and Spence has already proven in this division there aren’t many better around than
him.
Spence produced an electric individual season for Nottingham Forest in 2021/22 to help them earn promotion to the Premier League, but has lost his way a tad after
moving to Spurs.
Like Rodon, Leeds could look to do a season-long-loan deal that includes some sort of permanent option, and providing he is willing to drop into the Championship,
